RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Seniors Lacy Mott (offense) and Samantha Kuzma (defense) were named Great American Conference Players of the Week after an undefeated 3-0 slate last week.
It's the second time this season Mott has earned the Offensive Player of the Week distinction. Kuzma earns the Defensive Player of the Week honor for the first time in her career.
Mott (Waxahachie, Texas) averaged 5.36 kills per set and a blazing .459 hitting percentage against Southern Nazarene, Southern Arkansas, and Arkansas-Monticello. She totaled 59 kills and needed just 111 attempts to get them, and added four service aces and another pair of double-doubles thanks to 38 combined digs.
Kuzma (Portland, Texas) averaged better than a block per set for the Dawgs and added 22 kills to help give the team a boost. Against SAU, she had six assisted blocks and added another solo. She has had at least three blocks in nine matches this year and her 62 this season leads the team.
Riding a five-game winning streak, SWOSU battles Cameron on Monday night before ending the week across state lines when they face Harding on Thursday and Arkansas Tech on Friday.
