WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU Soccer dropped a 4-1 non-conference match to No. 7-ranked Dallas Baptist on Saturday. The Patriots started fast with three goals in the first eight minutes and did not look back.
The young Bulldogs (0-1-1) wrap up the season's opening weekend and collect vital experience against two ranked teams after playing No. 16 Emporia State to a draw just two days prior.
Sola Tsuruta got her first goal of the season thanks to a successful penalty kick that came just past the halfway point of the first half.
SWOSU trailed 3-1 at halftime and could not produce another score the rest of the way. DBU tacked on another goal for insurance in the second half and went on to cruise to the win.
As the aggressor, Dallas Baptist totaled 29 shots with 11 of those on goal. SWOSU did have chances of their own, finishing with 14 shots and seven on goal.
Action continues for the Bulldogs on Wednesday (Sept. 6) when they travel to Central Oklahoma for the first road game of the season.
