WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU Softball fell to (RV) Southern Arkansas again on Saturday afternoon. The Muleriders took the final game in their series 6-0.
The Bulldogs move ahead to prepare for their next GAC series. Arkansas-Monticello is their next matchup. This series opens next Friday in Monticello with a doubleheader starting at 1:00 pm.
SWOSU suffered from multiple self-inflicted mistakes during the series finale. They totaled six errors from numerous spots on the field and two SAU runs scored off of these errors.
Southern Arkansas kicked off the game with one run in the top of the first. SWOSU put out the first two batters but an error prolonged the inning and a double the next batter brought one home.
They scored again in the third off an error. An errant outfield throw home advanced all runners in a bases loaded situation to make it a 2-0 game.
The final touches were put on in the fourth inning. SAU batted around to score four runs in the inning and extend their lead to an unsurmountable 6-0 advantage.
Brianna Cryer started the game and took the loss for the Dawgs.
Katie Boline batted 2-3 and
Jordyn Wadley finished 1-2 with a walk.
