MAGNOLIA, Ark. – SWOSU Baseball concluded its series against No. 11/6 Southern Arkansas on Saturday, falling to the Muleriders 15-4 in the third game.

The Bulldogs got behind 11-0 after SAU jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning and added seven more runs in the third inning. SWOSU was forced to play catch up from there.

The offense cut into the deficit with a pair of runs in the fourth and fifth. Doubles by Brooks Red, Griffin Larsen, and Geoff Marlow helped produce the scoring.

Southern Arkansas' offense used power to deal their damage. They hit five doubles and added three home runs including the walk-off which induced the 10-run rule to end the game early.

On the mound, SWOSU used six arms in the game – none throwing longer than two innings. Wyatt Sharry (1.0 IP) and Zane Leonard (2.0) combined to throw three innings of scoreless relief.

Aside from the trio of doubles listed above, the Dawgs had Alex Rice finish 1-2 and reach base three times with two additional walks. SWOSU had five total hits and no player had more than one.

SWOSU drops to 20-22 overall and 11-16 in GAC play with two weeks left in the regular season. They currently sit just outside of the top-8 in the league standings, in ninth, with the top-8 advancing to the postseason.  

Action contiues in the midweek on Tuesday when the Dawgs travel to take on UCO in Edmond. SWOSU hosts Arkansas-Monticello next Friday and Saturday for Senior Weekend.
