McCoy Finalizes Football Staff for 2023

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU Football Interim Head Coach Ruzell McCoy has announced the addition of four new coaches to the staff, all of which are already on campus and coaching in spring practice for the Dawgs.

Joining the SWOSU Football Coaching Staff will be three full-time staff members Bob Majeski, Austin Jackson, and Hakim Gray, and graduate assistant Adam Martin.

"I'm truly excited about the coaches we've brought to SWOSU for the upcoming season," said McCoy. "They all wanted to be here and call this their next home. All four are Trustworthy, Enthusiastic, Accountable, and have a winning Mindset. They are all about the TEAM!"

Alongside the new faces will be a change in role for four-year SWOSU coach Calton Bakker, who will now transition to the offensive line after serving as coach of the D-Line in 2022.


Bob Majeski – Offensive Coordinator – Full Bio

Majeski brings a wealth of coaching experience to Weatherford which includes head coaching experience at Panhandle State, his destination prior to Weatherford, Dodge City Community College where he was named the 2011 Jayhawk Conference Coach of the Year, and Black Hills State.

During his 30-plus year coaching career, he has now coached at multiple collegiate institutions. He spent the past four years (2019-23) at the helm of OPSU and prior to that was an assistant at NCAA Division I Stetson University from 2015-18.

"Coach Majeski comes to us with a ton of experience and knowledge of the game. We are so excited about the future of the offense and what he will bring."


Austin Jackson – Defensive Coordinator – Full Bio

Jackson comes to Weatherford from Southwestern College (KS) where he spent the last two seasons as Special Teams Coordinator & Linebackers Coach. In his two years there, Jackson and the Moundbuilders finished as back-to-back Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Champions which included identical record-breaking 9-2 seasons for the program.

During his two-year run at SC, Jackson tutored five all-conference linebackers and had the KCAC Special Teams Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons.

Hakim Gray – Defensive Line Coach – Full Bio

Gray comes to Weatherford from Buffalo University where he was a graduate assistant coach for the Bulls in 2022. A year prior he was at another D1 school, Grambling State, where he was also as a graduate assistant. Gray began his coaching career at Arkansas Tech from 2019-20.

As a student-athlete, Gray began his journey at Louisiana Tech before transferring to Arkansas Monticello. While at UAM, he was a two-time All-GAC selection and earned all-region status.

Adam Martin – Graduate Assistant (Defensive Backs) – Full Bio

Martin is originally from Stillwater and was a member of the Oklahoma State football team from 2017-21 before transitioning to coaching upon graduation. 

"Coach Martin is a hungry young coach who continues to grow everyday both as a coach and recruiter. We are happy to have him!"
