Baseball Blows Out Cameron, 26-7

LAWTON, Okla. – SWOSU Baseball used a 17-run third inning to leave no doubt against Cameron in Tuesday's road midweek non-conference matchup. The Bulldogs went on to win 26-7 and are now winners of their last three games and seven of their last eight.

SWOSU (14-12, 8-7 GAC) will look to keep the momentum heading into the weekend with league leading Arkansas Tech set to travel to Weatherford for a Friday/Saturday series coming up.

Against Cameron, the offense had 21 hits and nine of those went for extra bases. Alex Rice had himself a day at the plate. The senior went 4-6 with a pair of triples, a double, six RBI, and four runs scored. Caleb Clines had a casual 4-5 showing and Cade Hamilton was 3-5. Jaylon Johnson picked up his first hit of the season – a three-run home run to left field after pinch hitting in the third inning.

The Dawgs sent 20 hitters to the plate in the third inning alone and plated 17 runs in the frame. This set a season high for runs scored in an inning, passing the 14 runs they scored against Adams State early in the season.

SWOSU originally trailed 1-0 after the first. That was quickly erased with four runs in the top of the second before things got out of hand in the third.

Six pitchers saw action which began with Bryson Armstrong who threw 2.0 innings. Logan Lagasse (W, 2-0), Matt Milner, and Jack Correll did not allow runs in their innings of action.
