TULSA – SWOSU Men's Basketball dropped a 95-54 Christmas Break exhibition game to Division I Tulsa on Friday night inside the Reynolds Center.
The Bulldogs got game action against a formidable 8-3 Tulsa squad to break up a 13-day hiatus from competition. The regular season, and conference play, will resume next Thursday, January 4 on the road against Southern Arkansas.
A Jacore Williams jump shot with 12:32 left to play in the first half had SWOSU within five points, trailing 20-15, but Tulsa closed the half on a 26-10 run and led 46-25 at the break.
TU went on to outscore SWOSU by another 20 points after halftime to cruise to the win. The Hurricane shot 50% or better in both halves and knocked down 13 three-point shots. The Dawgs were limited to 26% from the field overall and 19% from deep.
Williams finished with 12 points, which would have represented a season high for him had stats counted. Jalen Johnson poured in 13 second half points on 4-of-6 shooting and finished with 14 to lead all Bulldogs. Denali Alexander added 10 points thanks to an 8-for-10 showing from the free throw line.
