Soccer Bested By Ouachita In Arkadelphia

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – SWOSU soccer went on the road to match up with GAC leader Ouachita Baptist on Saturday. The Bulldogs battled, but could not break through on the number one defense in the conference and lost 1-0.

SWOSU drops to 3-9-3 for the year and 3-4-2 in the GAC. They'll remain away from Weatherford for their next contest on Friday, October 27 against East Central.

After the big win over Harding their last time out, SWOSU was held in check against the Tigers. Both defenses were on display in Arkadelphia. Unfortunately for the Dawgs, Ouachita Baptist's performed better. Things were deadlocked until the physicality of the Bulldogs' backline came back to bite them. The Tigers drew a foul in the box for a penalty kick. The OBU shot taker shot right and Terra Rybuck went left for the only score of the contest.

The defenses stiffened even more in the latter half. Offense was hard to come by in the final 45 minutes. The Tigers had their shots cut nearly in half from nine to five and the Bulldogs had only one shot, which came in the 88' of the game. The OBU defense stymied any opportunity at a SWOSU attack.

Ruth Vasquez led the Bulldogs in shots with three in 67 minutes.
