RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – For the second time this season, freshman libero Jada Permenter has been named the Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Permenter becomes the second Bulldog to be named a player of the week two times this season, joining Lacy Mott who has earned the offensive honor twice.
The freshman from Amarillo, Texas averaged 4.92 digs per set last week in three SWOSU Volleyball victories against Cameron, Arkansas Tech, and Harding. She finished with 26 digs against Harding on Friday to cap off the week, marking her highest four-set dig total of the season. Her efforts helped lift the Bulldogs to a 3-1 win over the Bisons, which snapped a 29-match conference win streak that Harding carried into the day.
Permenter currently ranks fourth throughout the conference at 4.57 digs per set.
SWOSU rides a five-match win streak heading into a new week. The Bulldogs will host the reigning Division II National Champions, No. 5 West Texas A&M, on Tuesday before traveling to face Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Arkansas on Thursday/Friday.
