WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Jalen Johnson (men’s basketball) and Morgan Smith (women’s basketball) are 2023’s first Bulldogs of the Week. The award is brought to you by Wright Wradio, the official partner of SWOSU Athletics for both livestream and radio.

Johnson (Oklahoma City, OK) had one of his best performances of his career this past week. He scored 16 points (6-9, 1-2 from 3) in 17 minutes off the bench to help the Bulldogs secure a victory against Arkansas-Monticello. A spark plug off the bench, Jalen has now scored double digits in four of the ten games he has played. 

Smith (Plano, TX) put in a career high day against Southern Arkansas. She put up a career high 32 points on 13-21 shooting which led the Lady Dawgs to a second straight win on Saturday afternoon. Her weekly totals came out to 47 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and five steals. These totals gave the Lady Bulldogs their first winning streak of the season.
