WEATHERFORD, Okla. – In the final non-conference game of the season, SWOSU Men's Basketball used a strong finish to the first half and carried it into the second in route to a 122-81 victory over Randall on Monday night.
The Bulldogs followed up a 55-point first half with a 67-point second half to run away with the matchup. 55 points was the previous season high for points in a half, only to be one-upped just 20 minutes later.
12 different Bulldogs scored on the night including a trio of 20-point performances. Kamden Gipson, MJ Warrior, Jr., and Jalen Johnson all notched 20. Mark Berry chipped in a double-double with 10 points and a team high 10 rebounds. Three others added double-digits.
The Dawgs trailed by as many as nine in the early going after Randall began 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, but slowly settled in and got their footing underneath them. With the score back tied 37-37 with 6:33 to play in the opening half, SWOSU finished the frame by outscoring the Saints 18-8 the rest of the way to build a 10-point, 55-45 lead.
After halftime, it was all SWOSU. They outscored the Saints 67-36 in the second half to break things open. When the pace of the game quickened, the Dawgs found rhythm which included 64 points from the bench.
The week is just getting started for SWOSU Hoops. They'll prepare to host Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday (Dec. 1) to open up Great American Conference play. They close out the week on Saturday with more GAC action on the road against Southeastern.
