Game Preview
  • SWOSU Football suffered its second straight loss for the first time all season last weekend against SNU and will look to bounce back on the road against East Central
  • It'll be a tale of two sides coming into the matchup. SWOSU has lost two in a row and has allowed 1,200+ yards of offense in those games including 1,000+ yards on the ground. Meanwhile, ECU is surging having won five games in a row after starting the season 0-2
  • In the Division II era, SWOSU is 10-14 against ECU. Since the GAC was formed in 2011, the two are even 5-5 against each other
  • SWOSU has only traveled to Ada three times since 2011. They are 1-2 on the road against ECU in the GAC era
  • The Tigers have a strong defense that ranks third in the conference by giving up just 353 yards/game and 20.0 points/game
  • Saturday also features a matchup of first year head coaches in Josh Kirkland and Kris McCullough

The Opponent - ECU
  • ECU sits tied for second in the conference with an impressive win over Henderson State in week 6 and is carrying the league's second longest win streak into Saturday
  • Offensively, ECU gets the job done by boasting a 46% third down conversion rate, a 32:44 time of possession average, and a quarterback who has turned the ball over just three times in seven games
  • QB Kenny Hrncir has thrown for 1,669 yards on the year with 14 TD and 3 INT. He sits right behind Tylan Morton in passing
  • After scoring 12 & 13 points in the first two games of the season, they have scored 30+ in their last five
  • Meanwhile, on defense, ECU holds opponents to 35% on third down and forces turnovers. The Tigers have forced 20 turnovers this season. That's at least two in every game and 10 the last three weeks
