WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU soccer looked to be in postseason form already in their GAC contest against East Central on Thursday afternoon. They win by a large 5-1 margin.
Alimata Rabo adds another great performance in GAC play. She scored two goals (24', 55') in her 46 minutes on the field. This marks her third multi-goal game of the season. It might be the most impressive game considering she only attempted three total shots on the day.
Micaella Swain also had two goals in the game (14', 79'). Her second goal was a rebound off of the chest of the goalie that she put right past the keeper's outstretched arms on the ground. Swain ties her career high for goals in a game with her first multi-goal game in almost a full calendar year today.
Summer Bass would put the nail in the coffin with her 83' goal. That score is her first goal of the season.
SWOSU dominated the game for 90 minutes. They didn't just score effectively, they defended almost as well as they scored. ECU only mustered two shots in the entire first half, one of which was an excellently placed free kick that got past goalkeeper
Ashley Hughes. The Tigers were limited to seven shots in total on the game and the Bulldogs more than doubled that with 15 shots in the first half alone.
Soccer is hitting their stride at the right time and improve to 5-0-3 in the GAC, 5-4-5 overall. They will have a full week off before hitting the road next against Ouachita Baptist on October 20 in Arkadelphia.
