DURANT, Okla. – A 10th-inning sacrifice fly from
Drew White scored
Marc Gonzales for the go-ahead and eventual game-winning run as SWOSU claimed a 10-9 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State on Friday afternoon at Mike Metheny Field.
SWOSU overcame an early 3-0 deficit and trailed 9-7 in the eighth before White hit a two-run single to tie the game at 9-9. The Bulldogs had four home runs on the day, with White,
Jean Ortiz,
Griffin Larsen and
Taylan Mullins-Ohm each making a trot around the bases as SWOSU totaled 15 hits on the day.
Alex Bedard and White each had three hits on the day, with White accounting for five RBI while Bedard scored twice.
Zach Baxley and Larsen also had multi-hit days while five other players recorded a hit in the game.
Four different pitchers saw time, with
Nate Postlethwait getting the start and lasting three innings before giving way to
Dakota Jones for the middle innings.
Chase Hamilton pitched the seventh and handed it off to
Ryan Hildner (4-0), who closed things out and struck our four without allowing a hit over the final 3.0 innings to earn the win.
SWOSU, now 14-8 (12-7 GAC) on the year, will return to the field on Saturday at 1:00 pm in Durant for a doubleheader to decide the series.
