SEARCY, Ark. – The SWOSU Soccer team played a game at Harding on Saturday morning and left Searcy with a 3-1 victory.
Neither team could find the back of the net in the first half as the score was tied at zero. SWOSU had six shots and Harding had no shots.
In the second half, it was a different story and the Lady Bulldogs scored a goal, 13 minutes into the second half when
Micaela Swain kicked the ball into the goal, assisted by
Brenna McGuirk. Harding scored an equalizer 10 minutes later. SWOSU worked hard on offense and Swain scored her second goal of the game.
Claire Torry wanted in on the action and scored a goal, assisted by
Brianna Benitez with eight minutes to play and SWOSU won the game 3-1.
SWOSU posted 13 total shots and Harding posted three total shots. SWOSU tallied seven corner kicks and Harding had no corner kicks. While SWOSU had no saves, Harding goalkeeper Bethanie Dixon had seven saves, with six of those saves coming in the first half.
SWOSU improves to 4-2 and is 3-1 in Great American Conference play. SWOSU soccer returns to the pitch, 3 pm Monday at home against Oklahoma Christian.
