ADA, Okla. – Bulldog Volleyball picked up their fourth consecutive victory on Wednesday with a five-set triumph over East Central at the Kerr Activities Center in Ada.
SWOSU lost the first and third sets, but played well from behind in each situation and responded each time with their backs against the wall. The Bulldogs won the second set 25-19, the fourth 25-20 and closed out the match at 15-12 in the fifth.
Chezney Nielsen led the Bulldogs with 17 kills and 10 digs while
Samantha Kuzma had 12 kills, hitting .231, and
Taryn Galt hit .219 with 11 kills on 32 swings.
Allie Hoang had 45 assists and 10 digs in addition to seven kills while Kuzma, Galt and
Emma Cohalla had three blocks apiece.
Sophia DeSantiago led the team with 20 digs.
Now 4-2 (4-1 GAC) on the year and riding a four-game win streak, the Bulldogs set up a pair of showdowns with #8 Oklahoma Baptist, who is undefeated and first in the GAC's Western Division. SWOSU heads to Shawnee to face OBU on Friday night and the Bison return the trip to Weatherford next Tuesday evening.
