WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Behind a career-high 33 points from sophomore
Makyra Tramble and 14 three-pointers, the #15-ranked SWOSU Women's Basketball team defeated Oklahoma Baptist 93-64 on Saturday at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center in Weatherford.
Tramble led the offensive onslaught from the outset, helping SWOSU build a lead of 32-11 after the first quarter and scoring 25 first-half points as the Lady Bulldogs scored 52 points in the first half and led by 19 at the break. SWOSU scored at least 19 points in each quarter and topped the 90-point plateau for the eighth time this season after converting on 45.1% (32-71) of their field goal attempts, including 14-of-37 (37.8%) shooting from three-point range.
The dominant sophomore campaign from Tramble continued as she set a new career-high with 33 points on 11-16 shooting, including 5-10 shooting from three-point range, and she hit 6-of-7 free throw attempts. She finished filling out the stat sheet with six rebounds, five steals, four assists and one blocked shot in 36 minutes of action.
Macy Gore added 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists while
Bethany Franks chipped in 13 points and six rebounds while
Lauren Ramey also reached double figures with 11 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots.
"We really had something to prove today and that's one thing about Mak, she's going to come out and put on a show because she had something to prove," Head Coach
Kelsi Musick said after the game. "We all had a chip on our shoulder today, and we really took that to heard and knew that we needed to make a statement today."
With the win, the Lady Dawgs improve to 12-2 on the year heading into a rivalry showdown with Northwestern Oklahoma State, set for Monday night at 5:30 pm in Weatherford.
