WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Desiree Rodriguez of SWOSU Soccer and Chezney Nielson of SWOSU Volleyball have been named the latest Bulldogs of the Week. The award is brought to you by Wright Wradio, the home of the Bulldogs over the airwaves on both 95.5 'The Coyote' and 100.3 'Coyote Classic.'

Rodriguez played a strong role in soccer’s undefeated week. The sophomore from Forney, Texas scored the first goal of the match against Southern Nazarene on Saturday in what ended up being the game winning goal after the Bulldogs defeated SNU 2-0. Earlier in the week, Rodriguez started and played in all 90 minutes against Oklahoma Baptist – helping the team avenge their earlier season loss to the Lady Bison by defeating OBU 2-1. SWOSU is now on a six-game winning streak coming into the GAC Postseason Tournament. 

Nielson averaged 11 kills over volleyball’s two matches last week, highlighted by her 13-kill performance against Southern Nazarene. The senior from Roosevelt, Utah also added three service aces, six blocks, and 13 digs to her weekly resume. Volleyball added wins over Southeastern and Southern Nazarene last week to extend their season winning streak to nine games. That is the longest winning streak in the program’s history.
