BETHANY, Okla. – Volleyball won its ninth straight match on Thursday after defeating Southern Nazarene 3-1. SWOSU dropped its first set, but used the deficit as a catalyst for the remainder of the game to power past the Crimson Storm.
Trailing by nearly double digits in set one, SWOSU continued to build momentum throughout and eventually battled all the way back to force extra volleyball. Though they did not win the set after eventually falling 28-26, it appeared to get the Dawgs in sync and they did not look back.
SWOSU dominated set two 25-19, won set three 25-22, and made quick work of SNU 25-11 to leave Bethany with a victory – sweeping the regular season series with the Crimson Storm in the process.
Markenzie Benoit totaled 15 kills and four blocks on the night.
Chezney Nielsen added 13 kills to go alongside three blocks and eight digs, while
Samantha Kuzma finished with 12 kills and seven blocks.
As a team, the Dawgs totaled 22 blocks and combined for eight service aces on the night.
SWOSU (18-6, 12-2 GAC) will look to extend their win streak to double digits next Tuesday (Nov. 9) on the road against always tough Oklahoma Baptist. This is the program's longest winning streak in school history.
