WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Basketball standoutsTanner Meraz and Morgan Smith have been named the latest Bulldogs of the Week. The award is brought to you by Wright Wradio, the home of the Bulldogs over the airwaves on both 95.5 'The Coyote' and 100.3 'Coyote Classic.'

Meraz (Elgin, Okla.) gave the Dawgs energy off the bench against Eastern New Mexico, scoring a season high 22 points in SWOSU’s 99-82 win. He followed up against No. 6 West Texas A&M with eight points as a starting guard against the Buffs. SWOSU went 1-1 last week at the Pak-A-Sak Thanksgiving Classic and will begin conference action this upcoming week. 

Smith (Plano, Texas) also played a big scoring role off the bench last week. She averaged 13.7 points per game and finished in double figures in all three contests. Smith knocked down at least three three-point shots in each game she played in and connected on four three-pointers against Western Colorado and Fort Lewis. She finished the week 11-for-20 (55%) from beyond the arc and helped SWOSU extend their winning streak to five games in the process.
