Momentum Continues for Lady Bulldogs with Rout of Western Colorado

CANYON, Texas – The Lady Bulldog Basketball Team won their fourth consecutive game on Friday afternoon following a lopsided 88-54 win over Western Colorado at the Pak-A-Sak Thanksgiving Classic.

SWOSU outscored the Mountaineers in every quarter in the game and had many runs, none larger than a 12-0 spurt that spanned between the end of the third quarter and start of the fourth.

WCU started the game with a 6-0 lead, but the Lady Dawgs woke up and answered with a 14-4 run to grab the lead. From there, they did not look back. It was another hot shooting day for the Lady Bulldogs who ended the game at 48% (35-of-73) overall as a team. The three-point shot wasn't as efficient, but even still, SWOSU knocked down 12 in the game out of 35 attempts (34%).

Four players ended in double figure scoring, led by Macy Gore with 16 points. Makyra Tramble and Morgan Smith both added 14 apiece, while Lauren Ramey finished with 11.

Bethany Franks grabbed a team high nine rebounds, while Tramble ended with a team high seven assists.

There will be little time for rest, as SWOSU (5-2) will be back on the court tomorrow (Nov. 27) at noon against Fort Lewis College – their second Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference foe in as many days.
