WEATHERFORD, Okla. – A pair of Great American Conference end-of-year superlative winners have been named Bulldogs of the Week! The award is brought to you by Wright Wradio, the home of the Bulldogs over the airwaves on both 95.5 'The Coyote' and 100.3 'Coyote Classic.'

Nicole Petrino, of SWOSU Soccer, ended the season as the GAC Defensive Player of the Year for a Bulldog Soccer squad that claimed the regular season conference title after finishing 10-1-1 in league play. Petrino helped anchor the defense that allowed a GAC-best .94 goals per game. She is the third player in SWOSU Soccer history to be named the defensive player of the year and is now a two-time all-conference selection after earning a first team nod this fall and an honorable mention nod during the spring season. Soccer ended their season 13-7-1 after suffering a 1-0 defeat to No. 1 seed Central Missouri in the NCAA Central Region Quarterfinals. 

Allie Hoang, of SWOSU Volleyball, was named the GAC Setter of the Year which is the first setter of the year conference accolade in school history. Hoang averaged 9.75 assists per set which put her third in the conference and just half an assist away from the top spot. She also ranked third in service aces on the year. Hoang now holds SWOSU’s all-time assists record after breaking the previous school record earlier this season. She has been named to the first team all-conference list in back-to-back seasons and has made the all-conference team each year since her sophomore season. Volleyball ended their season 20-8 after suffering defeat to Arkansas Tech in the GAC Semifinals. Tech went on to the win the tournament.
