DURANT, Okla - The Bulldogs extended their winning streak to eight games on Tuesday evening after a 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 25-18) victory on the road over conference foe Southeastern.
After splitting sets one and two, SWOSU claimed the third and fourth sets to leave Durant with the win. In the final set, the Dawgs put a stamp on the match with a convincing set win. This came after three consecutive close sets leading up to that point.
Markenzie Benoit led the way offensively on the night with 18 kills on a .351 hitting percentage. Lacy Mott (11)and Mackenzie Harless (10) both also tallied double digit kill totals. Setter Allie Hoang walked away with 47 assists and two service aces. Chezney Nielsen also added two aces, alongside her nine points.
On defense, SWOSU held Southeastern to a .135 hitting percentage as a team. Benoit led the team at the net with six blocks and Sophia Desantiago totaled 26 digs.
The win marks game one of a four-game road stretch to close out the regular season. SWOSU (17-6, 11-2 GAC) will play at Southern Nazarene on Thursday night.
