ALVA, Okla. – It took five dramatic sets, but SWOSU Volleyball wrapped up the regular season and locked in their postseason seeding with a 3-2 rivalry victory over Northwestern on Friday night.

The win secures the Bulldogs the number two seed going into next week's Great American Conference Championship. SWOSU ends the regular season 18-7 overall and 12-3 in conference play.

Friday's match saw two separate sets finish 28-26 and featured a back-and-forth fifth set where SWOSU trailed 12-10 before scoring the match's final five points to close it out.

A pair of Lacy Mott kills, a Sophia DeSantiago service ace, an attacking error from Northwestern, and a game-winning Samantha Kuzma and MacKenzie Harless block at the net sealed the deal for the Bulldogs at the end of the match during the five-point streak.

Three Bulldogs ended with 13 kills including Mott, Markenzie Benoit and Maicee Morgan. Harless and Benoit also matched each other in blocks with seven each.

Terez Chavez assisted on 52 points from her setter position and DeSantiago dug out 33 Ranger attacks on the night.

GAC Tournament play will begin next Thursday in Hot Springs, Arkansas. A preview of the action will be released on SWOSUAthletics.com when all seeding is finalized, and schedules are released.
