SWOSU Volleyball Wins In Dominating Fashion

Weatherford, Okla. - The Bulldogs came out with a vengeance Friday night vs Harding University winning in 3 straight sets.

From the first serve SWOSU came out on fire.  Fending off a comeback in the first set, the Dawgs won 25-23.  From there it was all white and blue.  Jumping out to a quick lead helped hitters Lacy Mott and Samantha Kuzma swing freely allowing the lead to grow to an eventual set victory of 25-19 in the second.  Down 0-2 Harding didn't seem to have much of an answer for SWOSU in the 3rd.  With a commanding lead already, Lacy Mott finishes the game off with a service ace to add to the already dominating performance by the Dawgs.

Attacks were very well balanced tonight thanks to setter Allie Hoang. Hoang kept the defense guessing which allowed big swings from her hitters.  Lacy Mott and Chezney Nielsen both hit double digits for the night in kills with Samantha Kuzma right there with 9 of her own.  Sophia Desantiago had a great game in the back row for the blue tonight.  Racking up 16 digs and 7 assists she played a vital role in the Dawgs success.

Tonight's victory wasn't just big for the Bulldogs due to the sweep but also a major help in conference standings. Harding and SWOSU were both 5-2 coming into the night tied for 4th place in the Great American Conference. The win allowed them to jump Harding and put the Dawgs in 3rd place with Oklahoma Baptist.  Getting closer to the conference championship, matches like tonight can be a huge momentum heading into the tournament.

The Bulldogs next game will be tomorrow afternoon Saturday, October 16th at 2:00 vs. Arkansas Tech.  Tech will bring a ton of firepower to the Pioneer Cellular Event Center but a dominating win vs. a quality team should help the Dawgs bring some serious momentum into Saturday.
