Hi, my name is Jessica Quintero. I am a junior here at SWOSU as an Art Education major. I am also a mother to a 4-year old girl, named Alayah, she is my biggest motivation in life. While I love all of the arts, photography is a true passion of mine. My story of how I got involved with the SWOSU Media team is one of my favorites. Throughout the summer of 2019 I prayed to get more involved in the SWOSU community with my photography. I had no idea how that would happen or what that would look like, but I knew it was something I wanted to do. I wrote it down in a journal that I keep, putting it into existence.
Â
Throughout my years here at SWOSU, it has brought me remarkable friendships. One day in an art class, I met my best artistic/photo friend, Klemson Lancaster. After Klem's athletic career, she started working for Doug Self and the media team. A few weeks before school picked back up, Klem called and explained they were looking for another photographer, (exactly after one month – to the day – of writing it in my journal) asking if I was interesting in taking the position...and the rest is history. I love my job, the people, and moments that come with it. The quote "Living the Dream" is pretty accurate.

With that said, here are some of JQuintero Photographers Favorites from the past year:
Â
First official practice day for our Bulldogs, and my first day working with SWOSU Athletics. My instructions were to "just have fun with it, and try not to get hit."
Kellan Smith had just finished a drill and saw me creepin' through my lens from afar!
Â
SWOSU football brings the best community, with lots of laughter and good times. I enjoyed this photo because it focuses on our boys and the hype as kickoff was approaching!
Â
Celebration between Coach Collins and
Josie Pumphrey. Volleyball has been the most intense, unpredictable, and hardest sport to capture. There's no way to predict what will happen, but this day I decided to focus on specific people, instead of following the ball. This fist-bump victory was a product of that. You can see just how proud Coach is!
Â
My favorite celebration picture from our volleyball girls! This was game point from a win for the Bulldogs, with the excitement and celebration from the rest of the team!
Â
Three-pointer celebration with
Jaylan Williams and the student body. I particularly enjoy this photo because it shows the true raw emotions and reactions from the athletes and fans!
Â
Coach Anderson at Pride Night consumed by laughter! (Now I may be lying, but this might be my only picture of her smiling, the rest are strictly game faced expressions lol!)
Â
This picture was taken by accident, and it turned out to be one of my favorites. It's from a non-traditional perspective, but these two women are a dynamic duo. Not only do they take on the role of being wives & mothers, they are also great leaders here within our SWOSU community!
Â
Alex Bedard making the decision to run home while Coach Saunders is giving him the clear to go. This was one of my favorites because it shows the intensity of a split moment's decision to run!
Â
Baseball boys gathered together showing support for their batter while
Kemper Bednar awaits on deck. I like this photo because it shows the boys lost in their favorite game!
Â
This was one of my favorites because it was a homerun for this
Breanna Simmons. It shows the excitement of the hitter and her teammates as they welcomed her into home!
