WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The Bulldog Men's Basketball team used a 13-0 second-half run to pull away from Oklahoma Baptist for a 76-64 victory on Saturday, snapping a four-game losing streak to OBU in the process.
SWOSU led by five at halftime, but they found themselves trailing 44-39 less than five minutes into the second half. After OBU got a basket with 12:47 remaining to take a 46-44 lead, the Bulldogs scored the next 13 points and held the Bison without a field goal for nearly seven minutes. SWOSU's lead grew to as many as 17 points and only dipped below 10 points once in the final 9:37 of game time.
Kamden Gipson led the way for SWOSU, scoring 18 points on 5-14 shooting while also pulling down three rebounds with three assists and three steals.
Marquis Johnson added 13 points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals while
Bralyn James chipped in 10 points off the bench.
The victory moves SWOSU to 11-11 on the year and 7-9 in conference play with six games to play in the regular season. The Bulldogs are on the road for their next four games, including a rivalry tilt at Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday.
