MONTICELLO, Ark. – SWOSU Baseball dropped a 10-7 decision at Arkansas-Monticello on Friday in the first game of a three-game Great American Conference series at Weevils Field.
 
SWOSU (7-4, 4-3 GAC) will play a doubleheader at UAM on Saturday to conclude the series.
 
The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead, scoring three runs in the first two innings before UAM got on the board with two in the second and six in the third to take the lead. SWOSU answered with three runs in the fourth and one in the seventh, but they left 14 runners on base in the game and fell despite finishing with 14 hits in the game.
 
Drew White led the Dawgs by going 3-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored while 
Alex Bedard, 
Jackson Dietel, 
Brayden Whitchurch and 
Adam Theis had two hits apiece. Dietel (3-1) also got the start on the mound and suffered his first defeat after allowing eight runs on seven hits.
