Rod Camphor Earns a Spot on GAC’s All-Decade Team

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – 2014 Great American Conference Player of the Year Rod Camphor is one of 12 players who have been selected to the GAC's inaugural All-Decade Team, which was announced on Wednesday.
 
Over the course of the next few weeks, the Great American Conference will reveal All-Decade teams for the 13 sports for which the league sponsors a championship. The league will also announce a 'Program of the Decade' for each sports which goes to the team that earned the most points and highest percentage of points based on the league's two All-Sports trophies.
   
Camphor played two seasons for the Bulldogs and he put together a memorable senior season which culminated with his selection as SWOSU's Male Athlete of the Year for 2013-14. He led the Bulldogs to a second-place finish in the conference as a senior by averaging 17.7 points per game while reaching double figures in scoring 26 times in 27 games. He became the Bulldogs' first GAC Player of the Year and earned two All-Central Region selections while becoming the second SWOSU Men's Basketball player to be named an NCAA Division II All-American. Following the season, Camphor was chosen to compete in the Reese's Division II College All-Star Game, where he scored a team-high 17 points.
 
The original list of nominees consisted of players that met at least one of the following three criteria: earned an "Of the Year" award, named to at least two All-GAC First Teams or at least three All-GAC teams. The voting electorate consisted of GAC coaches, sports information directors, athletic directors, senior woman administrators and media members. The All-Decade teams consisted of all nominees named on at least 50 percent of returned ballots.
