Soccer Shuts Out Oklahoma Christian for First Victory

EDMOND, Okla. – Behind two goals and an assist from senior standout Sandra Nabweteme, SWOSU Soccer rolled past Oklahoma Christian for a 3-0 victory on Saturday evening in Edmond.

Nabweteme wasted little time before getting into the action, putting one past the goalie in the fifth minute of the game. Just over 10 minutes later, she was on the set-up end of a scoring chance as she put Brenna McGuirk in position to score her first goal of the young season. Early in the second half, Nabweteme got her second score as she again beat the keeper for an unassisted goal.

SWOSU had 14 shots in the match, four apiece from McGuirk and Brianna Benitez, and eight attempts on goal. Bulldog goalie Kirstyn Dill faced five shots in the match and had two saves to record her first clean sheet of the season.

SWOSU (1-1) returns to action next Saturday with a trip to Texas for a morning matchup against Lubbock Christian.
