OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Home runs from
Rafael Villela,
Tanner Long and
Chase Duncan helped the SWOSU Baseball take an 8-5 lead on Oklahoma Christian to the 9th innings, but the Eagles scored four runs in the final frame to claim a 9-8 victory in walkoff fashion.

Trailing 3-0 entering the sixth inning, it was Long who got the Dawgs on the board with a solo home run to lead off the sixth.
Tyler Carpenter followed it up with a sacrifice fly that scored
Chase Duncan and got the Dawgs within one at 3-2 before OC got a two-run single in the bottom half of the inning to push their lead out to 5-2.

Following an RBI groundout by Long, Duncan stepped to the plate with two runners on in the seventh and put the Dawgs on top with a three-run homer to center. One inning later, it was Villela's turn to send a two-run shot over the fence in left field and push the Dawgs lead up to 8-5.

In the ninth, OC loaded the bases with one out and pushed their first run across on an RBI groundout. A throwing error by SWOSU then allowed two runs to score and tie the game before the game-winning run scored on an RBI single by the next batter.

SWOSU (18-21) returns to action this weekend in Bethany with a three-game series at Southern Nazarene on Friday-Saturday.
