WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU Softball was upended twice on Monday as they dropped their first Great American Conference series to Southeastern 3-1.
The Bulldogs (2-8, 1-3 GAC) are back at home on Tuesday, hosting Cameron in a doubleheader set to begin at 1:00 pm.
Game 1: SE 9, SWOSU 7

Southeastern scored five runs in the top of the fourth inning, which included a grand slam that gave the Savage Storm a 9-3 advantage that held up despite the Bulldogs scoring four runs in the final two innings. The Bulldogs finished with 14 hits in the game, including solo home runs by
Samantha Householder and
Miranda Grover in the bottom of the seventh.
Five different Bulldogs had multiple hits in the game, with
Amanda Moreno finishing 3-for-5 with two RBI while
Hannah Morris,
Allyson Gafford, Householder and Grover all had two hits apiece. Donaldson (2-2) took the loss in the circle after allowing nine runs – eight earned – on 10 hits in 4.0 innings of action. Grover pitched the final 3.0 innings, allowing three hits with one strikeout.

The Bulldogs were hurt by their own miscues in the second game, committing four errors which led to four runs for Southeastern, who scored four runs in the first inning and two apiece in the third and seventh innings to remain in control throughout the game.
Moreno hit an RBI double in the third and a solo home run in the fifth, which accounted for all of the Bulldogs runs in the first six innings.
Sidney Kirk doubled to lead off the seventh inning and
Hannah Morris brought her home with a two-run home run over the fence in right center field, making it 8-4. Moreno finished 3-for-4 with two RBI, while Morris had two hits in the game to match the rest of the lineup in the game.
Alisa Friesen (0-5) pitched the first 2.0 innings, allowing seven hits and six runs before giving way to Grover and Donaldson for the final 5.0 innings.
