EDMOND, Okla. – SWOSU Softball concluded the Edmond Regional Festival on Saturday, picking up a split on the day to finish 1-3 at the event while moving to 1-5 on the year.
SWOSU opens Great American Conference play next weekend, hosting Southeastern Oklahoma State for a four-game league series.

Samantha Householder to regain the lead for SWOSU in the fifth and Garcia plated three batters later as
Saige Vandiver singled up the middle to make it 9-7.
Amanda Moreno,
Kaytlin Donaldson, Garcia and Vandiver had two-hit games while Moreno and
Ashtyn McAdoo posted two RBI apiece. Donaldson (1-1) also got the win in the pitching circle after allowing five runs on six hits in 2.1 innings of relief action.

UCO plated five runs in the bottom of the first inning and added four in the fourth to invoke the run-rule against the Bulldogs. SWOSU's lone run came on a solo homer by
Amanda Moreno to lead off the fourth inning.
Alisa Friesen (0-1) took the loss after allowing four runs on four hits and she was chased from the game before getting out of the first inning.
