Game 1: SWOSU 4, East Central 3
Box Score

An insurance run in the seventh inning proved to be the difference as the Bulldogs held off ECU in the first game on Saturday. Sawyer Toole tripled and scored on a wild pitch in the second inning for the first run of the game and Tanner Long and Robert Perea had RBI hits in the fifth to make it a 3-1 lead for the Dawgs. Perea again came up with Toole in scoring position and he came through with an RBI single through the left side to score the fourth run, which allowed the Dawgs to hold off ECU after they scored one run in the eighth.

Tyler Tuck (2-0) entered the game in the third inning and pitched the next 4.1 innings to earn the victory. He allowed two runs on five hits before giving way to Haden Branch for the final two innings. Branch allowed one run on two hits on the way to his third save of the season.

Game 2: SWOSU 8, East Central 4

The Bulldogs scored three runs in the second and fourth frames and tacked on two in the bottom of the sixth, allowing them to fend off ECU and win the series finale, which was a seven-inning affair. Tanner Long had a two-run double in the second and later scored on a wild pitch, making it 3-0. ECU got two runs back in the third and one in the fourth to tie the game at 3-3.

Alex Bedard doubled to score Brady Burtner in the fourth, then scored on a passed ball before Alex Pimentel doubled and scored on a wild pitch as SWOSU opened the lead back up to 6-3. Pimentel added a two-run double in the sixth that scored Bedard and Kannon McCune for the Dawgs final run.

Dakota Jones and Gabe Jacobo (1-0) pitched for SWOSU, with Jacobo throwing the final four innings and allowing two runs on four hits with four strikeouts to earn the victory.
