EDMOND, Okla. – SWOSU Softball dropped their first two games at the Edmond Regional Festival on Thursday, falling to Colorado Christian and Oklahoma Christian at Tom Heath Field.
SWOSU (0-4) returns to action on Saturday, taking on Newman and Central Oklahoma at UCO's Broncho Field in Edmond.

SWOSU scored single runs in the third and fourth innings, but Colorado Christian put runs on the board in each inning and ended the game early with a two-run single in the sixth inning. A double steal by
Samantha Householder and
Amanda Moreno gave SWOSU their first run of the day before an RBI single from
Bella Garcia scored
Saige Vandiver to make it 3-2 in the top of the fourth.
From that point on, however, it was all Cougars as they put up three runs in the fourth and two apiece in the fifth and sixth to end the game.
Alisa Friesen (0-2) started and lasted 4.0 innings in the circle before being chased after allowing eight runs on seven hits with four walks and one strikeout.
Oklahoma Christian 8, SWOSU 0 (5 inn.)

The Bulldogs were held without a hit in the night cap against OC, but the defense and pitching kept the game scoreless until the fourth inning. In the bottom of the fourth, the Eagles scored twice before bringing the game to an early finish with a six-run fifth inning that invoked the eight-run rule.
Miranda Grover (0-1) took the loss after allowing eight runs on seven hits in 4.1 innings of action.
