WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The #25 SWOSU Women's Basketball team outscored Oklahoma Christian 34-10 in the fourth quarter to break open a two-point game and pull away for an 84-57 victory on Thursday evening – their 34th consecutive win inside the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
The Lady Bulldogs scored no more than 18 points in any of the first three quarters and trailed at the end of the first and second quarters before taking a 50-48 lead into the fourth. SWOSU broke open a 52-all game with a 10-0 run and never looked back, hitting 11-of-14 field goals in the fourth, including 6-of-8 three-pointers.
Several players had big performances on the night, with
Maddie Sperle leading the way offensively with 21 points while
Makyra Tramble posted a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds and
Taber Beer chipped in with 13 points and eight assists. Maybe the most impressive performance of the evening, however, came from
Bethany Franks, who filled the stat sheet to the point that she was one point shy of a triple-double with 10 rebounds, 10 steals and nine points.
The Lady Bulldogs improve to 6-2 on the year with win and they finish the year 5-1 against non-conference opponents. Great American Conference play resumes on Saturday when SWOSU matches up with Southern Nazarene at 1:00 pm.
