LAWTON, Okla. – SWOSU outscored Cameron 32-14 in the third quarter, opening up a 20-point lead that became a 92-67 victory on Wednesday afternoon at Aggie Gym in Lawton.
The Lady Bulldogs connected on just 1-of-12 three-pointers in the first half and faced a deficit as large as nine points in the second quarter before closing the half on a 16-5 run and taking 34-32 lead at the break after
Lauren Ramey scored on the final possession. The pace picked up significantly in the second half and SWOSU nearly matched their first-half scoring output in the third quarter alone by knocking down 10-of-15 field goal attempts, including three three-pointers. The Lady Bulldogs added to their lead, outscoring Cameron 26-21 in the fourth to put the game away.
SWOSU had 11 different players score in the game, with
Maddie Sperle leading the way with 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field.
Bethany Franks finished with 16 points, five rebounds and four steals while
Taylor Hedrick (11 points/8 rebounds) and
Tyra Aska (10 points/6 rebounds) also reached double figures in scoring.
The Lady Bulldogs improve to 5-2 on the year and they'll return to action next Thursday (Dec. 5) at home against Oklahoma Christian.
