Sofia Gruden have been named the newest Bulldogs of the Week. The award is brought to you by Wright Wradio, the home of the Bulldogs over the airwaves on both 95.5 'The Coyote' and 100.3 'Coyote Classic.'
Nabweteme (Kampala, Uganda) was named the GAC Offensive Player of the Year on Wednesday and then led her team to the 2019 GAC Tournament Championship with victories over Harding and Oklahoma Baptist. The GAC's all-time leader in goals scored attempted six shots in the tournament and scored SWOSU's first goal in each match on her way to being named the Tournament MVP.
Gruden (Metamora, Ill.) helped the Bulldogs finish the regular season with a pair of conference victories as they defeated Southern Nazarene and East Central last week. On Senior Night, she put down 10 kills with four blocks while hitting .381 and she followed that up with 12 kills and two blocks in the regular season finale at ECU. For the week, she averaged 2.75 kills and 0.8 blocks per set while attacking with a .326 hitting percentage.
