EDMOND, Okla. – Behind a top-10 individual finish from redshirt freshman
Zoe Morton, the #22-ranked SWOSU Women's Golf team claimed fifth place at the UCO Classic, played Monday and Tuesday at The Golf of Edmond.
Morton fired the low round of the week by a Lady Bulldog, shooting a one-over par 72 in the second round to climb into a share of eighth place at 10-over for the tournament.
Mikaela Rindermann also notched a top-20 finish as she tied for 18th place at 15-over, one shot ahead of
Rebecca Lau.
Georgia Miller improved her score by seven strokes on Tuesday and tied for 35th place with a two-round stroke total of 161.
Finishing ahead of the Lady Bulldogs were three Central Regional opponents, including tournament host Central Oklahoma, who won their home event by seven strokes over Arkansas Tech. UCO's Susana Olivares was the individual medalist, running away with the tournament and finishing six shots ahead of Junie Khaw from Tarleton State.
SWOSU will play each of the next two weeks to wrap up their fall schedule, with a trip to Warrensburg, Mo., up next for the Midwest Classic on October 7-8.
