WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Rivalry softball took place on a windy Wednesday afternoon at the SWOSU Athletic Complex, with the visiting Rangers of Northwestern taking both ends of a doubleheader from the Bulldogs.
SWOSU (6-30, 6-22 GAC) returns to action with a four-game conference series at Oklahoma Baptist on Friday and Saturday in Shawnee.

SWOSU got solo home runs from
Kinsey Skroh in the third inning and
Samantha Householder in the bottom of the seventh, but Northwestern plated six runs in the top of the seventh that proved to be the difference in the game.
The Bulldogs trailed 2-1 heading to the seventh after Northwestern took the run with a two-run homer in the top of the fifth frame. The Rangers scored six runs on six hits in the seventh, using a pair of two-run shots in the inning to pull away for the victory.
SWOSU was limited to five hits in the game, with only the solo home runs as extra-base hits.
Rileigh Ricken (2-12) took the loss after tossing 6.2 innings, allowing eight earned runs on 11 hits.

The Bulldogs managed four runs on nine hits in the night cap, but they were unable to contain the Northwestern offense, which finished with four home runs as part of 13-hit game that plated nine runs.
SWOSU scored first, manufacturing a run in the bottom of the first as Skroh hit a one-out single into right field and scored
Hannah Morris. Northwestern hit a pair of solo home runs in the top of the second and regained the lead, then pushed it to 4-1 in the top of the fifth with a two-run shot. SWOSU got two runs back in the bottom of the fifth, using an error to plate one before Skroh again came through with an RBI single to center that scored
Amanda Moreno.
Northwestern pushed across five runs in the final two frames while holding SWOSU to one run on an RBI single from
Allyson Gafford in the bottom of the seventh.
Miranda Grover (3-7) took the loss after allowing seven hits and four runs in 4.1 innings of action.
