DURANT, Okla. – Road woes continued for the SWOSU Softball team on Friday as the Bulldogs dropped a pair of Great American Conference contests to Southeastern Oklahoma State via run-rule to open the GAC series.
SWOSU and Southeastern will reconvene on Saturday at 11:00 am for a second doubleheader to conclude the series.

The Bulldogs managed just two hits in the opening game, which was ended when Southeastern plated five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to invoke the run rule. The Savage Storm put up three runs in the first inning and were held scoreless for the middle innings before putting the game away in the fifth.
SWOSU got a leadoff single from
Samantha Householder in the first and a leadoff single by
Bella Garcia in the third, but were unable to manage a run after getting runners in scoring position during both innings.
Rileigh Ricken (0-6) took the loss after allowing eight runs on eight hits with one walk and one strikeout.

Two-run home runs by
Sidney Kirk and
Rileigh Ricken highlighted a six-run first inning as the Bulldogs took the early lead and had full control of the second game against Southeastern. The Dawgs momentum lasted just one inning, however, as Southeastern would score six runs on three hits while leaving the bases loaded after tying the game in the bottom of the second inning.
SWOSU again went stagnant offensively, managing just two hits over the final four frames while Southeastern added five runs in the third and three in the sixth to again bring the game to its conclusion before the seventh inning.
Six different players recorded a hit for SWOSU, with Ricken and Kirk leading the way with their home runs and two RBI apiece.
Miranda Grover (0-4) was the pitcher of record, suffering the setback after allowing five runs on four hits in just 1.0 inning of work. Kirk got the start and lasted 1.2 innings and Ricken closed the game out by throwing the final two innings.
