LAWTON, Okla. – SWOSU Softball dropped both ends of a non-conference doubleheader against in-state rival Cameron on Wednesday in Lawton.
SWOSU (1-25) returns to action this weekend with a Great American Conference series against Arkansas-Monticello on Friday and Saturday in Weatherford.

Three straight batters reached for SWOSU to open the game, setting the scene for
Sidney Kirk to blast a grand slam over the left field fence and give the Bulldogs a 4-0 advantage after the first half-inning. Cameron quickly responded, getting a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first and scoring three in the inning to make it a one-run game after one.
SWOSU managed just one hit over the final four frames while Cameron tied the game in the third before scoring three runs in the fourth and five in the fifth to invoke the run-rule.

The Aggies controlled from the outset in the second game, retiring SWOSU in order in the first before an explosive inning at the plate. Cameron scored eight runs on seven hits and they were aided by one Bulldog error as they built an 8-0 run after one inning.
SWOSU got their first hits of the game in the fourth inning, stringing together back-to-back singles but they were unable to push a run across. Cameron added five runs in the third and two in the fourth to provide their final margin.
