WEATHERFORD, Okla. – First-year SWOSU Head Football Coach Chet Pobolish announced Wednesday the addition of 58 student-athletes who have signed to join the Bulldog Football program on National Signing Day. Those players – combined with five midyear transfers that came to SWOSU at the start of the spring semester – make up the Bulldogs' first recruiting class under Pobolish.
   
"It is a sizable class, the initial goal was to try and sign two deep at each position to build a foundation moving forward," Pobolish said. "I'm extremely happy with how hard the staff worked. The kids that we signed all bought in to the same thing, we told them that you're going to come here for the coaches and the tradition and every one of them bought into that."
 
SWOSU Football fans are invited to join Coach Pobolish and his staff for the inaugural #SpotTheBall Signing Day Social, which will be held on Wednesday (Feb. 7) evening at Lucille's Roadhouse in Weatherford. At the event, Pobolish will introduce the members of the recruiting class and announce the 2018 SWOSU Football schedule.
 
"There's no doubt that we want our recruiting focus to begin here in Oklahoma, we want to start in Weatherford and branch out from there," Pobolish said. "It's important to us that we get local kids, the ones that we thought could play college football and all of those kids we signed, we made sure that they could play. We didn't just recruit them because they were local, but because we think that they can come in and contribute to this program."
