WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU Softball fell by scores of 12-2 (5 inn.) and 17-11 on Wednesday in their home opener against Central Oklahoma.
The Bulldogs will continue home action this weekend when they host East Central in a four-game GAC series where they will look to collect their first win of the season.
Game One
UCO 12, SWOSU 2 (5 inn.)

UCO scored runs in every inning of the game while the Bulldogs were limited to just a pair of runs in the third inning.
Hits from
Samantha Householder and
Sidney Kirk plated SWOSU's runs in that third inning making the game 8-2, but the Bulldogs just couldn't get anything else going and allowed the Bronchos to tack on four more runs and reach the run rule after playing five complete.
Rileigh Ricken (L, 0-4) started in the circle and struck out four batters, while walking three.
Kinsey Skroh led the offense with a pair of hits including a double, while Kirk also notched an extra-base hit in the contest.
Game Two
UCO 17, SWOSU 11

The nightcap featured offense from both sides as the teams combined to score 28 runs and collect 33 hits together.
SWOSU was able to knock around the UCO starting pitcher for all 11 of their runs before getting into the bullpen, but still played from behind the entire contest. It was the Broncho bats who were the hotter of both sides, tallying 19 hits including 15 against game two starting pitcher
Sidney Kirk.
Trailing 17-7 and facing another run rule, the Dawgs did not go away quietly in the sixth inning when they got back into things with four runs in the frame. SWOSU pieced together quality at-bats and posted five hits in the inning – all hard hit singles.
Heading into the final inning the Dawgs trailed 17-11, but couldn't rally any further after going down in order to complete the game.
Amanda Moreno had herself a solid game at the dish, finishing a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored.
Kinsey Skroh tallied three hits, followed by
Sidney Kirk and
Samantha Householder who each contributed two hits each.
Kirk (L, 0-5) pitched 5.1 innings before giving way to
Miranda Grover who threw the final 1.2 innings.
