BETHANY, Okla. – SWOSU dropped their final game of the 2017-18 season to Great American Conference Champion Southern Nazarene by a score of 70-56 on Saturday evening at the Sawyer Center.
In the game, SWOSU's
Charles Beauregard, Jr., finished with just seven points after being pulled from the contest after picking up a technical foul with 18:57 to play. Despite being held to his lowest scoring total in 10 games, Beauregard was able to finish the season as the Great American Conference's leading scorer with 20.3 points per game and eclipse SWOSU's single-season school record with 569 points, breaking the previous record of Kenneth White (2008-09) by just one point.
The Bulldogs were led by
Cooper Battisti, who set his career high in scoring for the second time in the past three games by totaling 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field. Battisti also added four rebounds, two assists and one steal to his stat line.
Devin Pugh filled up the stat sheet in his final game for the Bulldogs, scoring 13 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists, two steals and one blocked shot. Also playing his final game,
Collin Jennings had six points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
SWOSU finishes the 2017-18 season with a record of 4-24 overall and they failed to qualify for the Great American Conference Tournament for the second straight season after posting a 2-20 mark in league games.
