WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU Men's Basketball dropped a 92-77 contest to Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
It was a close contest at the start as the two sides traded baskets in the first half. SWOSU held the advantage half way through the first period of play jumping out to a 29-15 lead over Southeastern. The Savage Storm began to find their rhythm after that going on a 23-8 run to tie things up at 38-38 with five minutes to play in the half. The Bulldogs weathered the Southeastern attack to take a 52-47 lead into halftime.
The Bulldogs maintained control a majority of the second half but Southeastern grabbed the lead midway through the half. SWOSU continued to fight and stayed within striking distance the rest of the way but fell just short as the Savage Storm finished on a 10-3 run to hold on for the victory.
SWOSU had five players reach double figures in the contest led by Junior
Tre Evans who poured in 17 points while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out six assists.
Jamar Sandifer and
Marcus Thomas both added 14 points while Thomas pulled down a season high eight rebounds in the contest.
Cheikh Fall was two rebounds shy of a double-double on the afternoon nabbing eight rebounds while also contributing 13 points.
The Bulldogs will take to the hardwood again when they do battle with Oklahoma Christian on Thursday, December 6, at 7:30 pm in Edmond.
