GREENWOOD, Ind. – The SWOSU Soccer team is represented on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team for the third straight year, as senior Erica Brunet and junior Sandra Nabweteme were selected to the team, which honors students for their performances on the field and in the classroom.
 
The Academic All-District teams include student-athletes from all three NCAA divisions and are sorted into districts across the United States and Canada. All the First-Team honorees will be placed on the CoSIDA Academic All-America team ballot where, the honorees for that award will be selected at a later date. SWOSU is part of district seven, which includes teams from the Great American Conference, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
 
Brunet (Brampton, Ontario, Canada) earns the honor for the third consecutive year and currently holds a 3.97 GPA majoring in Special Education. On the field, she has been a veteran presence on the backline for the Bulldogs in a defensive effort that held opponents to 11.9 shots a game. Brunet was also recognized as a GAC First Team All-Conference selection and as a Distinguished Scholar Athlete this season.
 
Nabweteme (Kampala, Uganda) becomes the fourth player selected to the Academic All-District team and maintains a 3.68 GPA majoring in Engineering Physics. She has been a vital part of the SWOSU offensive attack, leading the team in assists and ranking second on the team in goals scored. Nabweteme was also named a GAC First Team All-Conference selection this season.
 
The selections bring the Bulldogs total to four CoSIDA Academic All-District team members in program history. Brunet becomes the first SWOSU Soccer player to be selected three times and Nabweteme is just the third First Team selection, joining Brunet and Chelsea Edwards (2006) in that regard.
