WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU Men's Basketball made the most of their first regular season home game of the season, scoring a season-best 106 points to claim a 106-90 victory over Cameron on Saturday at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
Six different players reached double figures in scoring for SWOSU, who was led by
Tre Evans with a double-double of 28 points and 10 assists in 28 minutes of action. Each of the other four starters reached double digits in points, as did
Chris Braggs, Jr., who finished with 12 points and four rebounds off the bench.
The Bulldogs shot 51.4% from the field, knocking down 37-of-52 field goal attempts despite laboring to 30.8% (8-of-26) shooting from beyond the arc. SWOSU cashed in at a very high clip at the charity stripe, knocking down 24-of-28 (85.7%) of their free throw attempts.
In addition to Evans big night,
Cheikh Fall finished with 14 points and a team-leading seven rebounds while
Marcus Thomas chipped in 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field.
Jamar Sandifer had 17 points and
Jefkins Agyeman-Budu added 10 points, four rebounds and two blocked shots.
With the win, SWOSU picks up their first victory under head coach
Terry Evans to improve to 1-3 on the year. The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday night in Ada, opening Great American Conference play against East Central.
