Setting the Scene
- SWOSU Volleyball is headed back to Texas for the second straight week and they will compete at the LCU Chap Classic, hosted by Lubbock Christian on Friday and Saturday
- The Bulldogs will meet two teams from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and two teams from the Lone Star Conference (LSC) while in Lubbock
- On Friday, the Bulldogs start early and face Texas Woman's at 9:00 am before closing the day with a match against Colorado Mesa at 3:00 pm
- The tournament concludes on Saturday with another 9:00 am contest against Colorado Christian before the event finale at 1:00 pm against Eastern New Mexico

The Opponents
Texas Woman's (0-4)
- Enter the second weekend winless after playing two ranked teams among a competitive field at the Oredigger Classic in Golden, Colo.
- Led offensively by Miri Shade (36 kills; 3.27/set) and Briley Cole-Lewis (33; 2.54) and the Pioneers averaged 1.23 blocks per set in their first four matches
- SWOSU is 1-7 all-time against Texas Woman's, a former LSC foe that the Bulldogs haven't faced since 2010

Colorado Mesa (2-2)
- The Mavericks also played at the Oredigger Classic last weekend, going 2-2 with victories over Western New Mexico and Texas Woman's
- Balanced attack leads the CMU to 13.86 kills per set, led by Mackenzie Edwards with 4.43 kills per set and a .270 hitting percentage
- CMU won the only prior meeting between the two programs, a 3-2 victory over the Bulldogs on Sept. 3, 2011 in Golden, Colo.

Colorado Christian (1-3)
- Colorado Christian went 1-3 against a competitive field at the Angelo State Invitational last weekend, starting 0-3 before getting a victory over Limestone College to conclude the event
- Five different players average better than 1.5 kills per set for CCU, led by Cali Bahnsen (3.12) and Jacey Johnson (3.04)
- SWOSU holds a 1-0 advantage in the all-time series after scoring a 3-1 victory over the Cougars on Sept. 6, 2008 in Goodwell, Okla.

Eastern New Mexico (0-4)
- The Greyhounds battled three ranked teams as they finished winless at the Oredigger Classic last weekend
- ENMU is led offensively by Brooklyn Biel (33 kills; 2.54/set) and Jasmine Gannon (30; 2.31/set)
- SWOSU holds a 5-2 all-time series advantage against the Greyhounds, including two straight victories – the last coming in 2013 in Wichita Falls, Texas

The Coach
SWOSU: Josh Collins (71-92, 6th season)
- Led the Bulldogs to the best season in program history in 2015, winning 22 games and the GAC Tournament Championship
- Has coached 12 All-GAC selections, one GAC Freshman of the Year and two AVCA All-Central Region selections in four seasons
- His teams have earned two AVCA Team Academic Awards and one GAC Sportsmanship Award
- Added the duties of Director of Gameday Operations at SWOSU in the fall of 2014.

- SWOSU freshman middle hitter
JaLisa Hollingshed was named to the All-Tournament Team for her play last weekend at the BritKare Lady Buff Classic
- Hollingshed had 29 kills while hitting a team-best .286 last weekend and she totaled 12 blocks (1 solo, 11 assist), a mark that ranks her second on the team
- The Bulldogs have a balanced offensive attack that has five players averaging 1.4 kills per set or better, led by
Danusia Sipa Borgeaud with 39 (2.44 per set)

Kodee Avery is directing the Bulldogs offensively with 111 assists (6.94 per set) while also totaling 14 kills, 34 digs and seven blocks

Kaitlyn Dillon recorded a team-best 66 digs (4.12 per set) during the four matches at West Texas A&M while
Addie Aman is the team's leader with 14 blocks to date

Looking Ahead
- Bulldog Volleyball opens Great American Conference play on Tuesday (Sept. 12) with a trip to Ada to face East Central
- Next weekend, the Dawgs will play in Edmond and Bethany against four teams from the MIAA in the GAC/MIAA Crossover event
