RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech's standout pitcher Jalissa Gum was absolutely dominant on Friday, holding SWOSU Softball to four hits and no runs in a doubleheader as the Golden Suns swept the Bulldogs by scores of 2-0 and 3-0.
The losses drop SWOSU to 18-32 (12-28 GAC) on the year and mathematically eliminate the Bulldogs from postseason competition.

The Bulldogs were on the wrong side of history in the opener as Arkansas Tech's Jalissa Gum celebrated her senior day by tying the NCAA Division II single-game record for with 20 strikeouts.
Abigail Schade singled to lead off the game, but that would be SWOSU's lone hit of the game. Gum recorded the first 16 outs of the game via strikeout before Schade was retired on a groundout in the sixth inning.

Taylor Eaves took a no-hitter into the fourth inning, working around two walks in the third inning to leave the game scoreless after three. ATU got on Eaves in the fourth with three hits, including an RBI double from Gum, who also later scored in the inning to give the Golden Suns a 2-0 advantage. Gum's 20 strikeouts ties the NCAA Division II record for strikeouts in a seven-inning game, equaling a mark set by Dori Stankewitz of Florida Southern in 1987 and Hannah Perryman of Missouri-St. Louis in 2014.

SWOSU made improvements in the second game but they were still unable to push any runs across on Gum, who tossed a second straight complete game and struck out 15 Bulldog batters for the shutout.
Abigail Schade again led the Bulldogs at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a pair of singles, the lone hits for SWOSU until a one-out double was hit by
Paige Bowler in the seventh.
Rileigh Ricken (3-10) started and lasted 5.0 innings against the Golden Suns, allowing three runs on five hits with three walks and one strikeout.
